During last two months my house power consumption generated 468kg of CO2 emission.
I know I have the responsibility to reduce my portion of CO2 emission, in doing so not only saves me money, but also is in congruence with my personal interesting.
But Taipower has to be blamed for part of the CO2 emission attributed to my power consumption, because it has three coal power plants (Taichung, Mailiao, Hsinda) listed in the most polluting power plants of the world in terms of CO2 emitting per unit of power generated, according to information from CARMA (Carbon Monitoring for Action).
So, it will be justifiable for Taipower to list among my CO2 emission how much should be attributed to its own inability in CO2 emitting control while generating power.
前二個月家裡使用的電力約排放了468公斤的二氧化碳.
我知道有責任降低自己的二氧化碳排放數量,這麼做不只可以省錢,也和個人利益一致.
不過我使用電力所產生的二氧化碳排放,有部分應該歸咎於台電,因為根據CARMA (碳監視行動)的資訊,台電有三座火力發電廠(台中、麥寮、興達)名列世界單位發電量排放二氧化碳最多的名單上.
所以,在我的二氧化碳排放數量表內,台電應該也列出屬於它發電時控制不佳產生的數量,這才合理.
