Imagine from bean curd prices

The factory price of two pieces of bean curds has risen from $10 to $15, a shocking 50% increase!
This is the highest percentage increase I ever heard in recent spate of commodity prices moves.
Everybody is saying that all kinds of prices are increasing except salary.
This is a real problem that is worrying.
For if one couldn't bear the increases of gasoline price, he still can move by riding bicycle or on feet. But if he couldn't afford the prices of food, he would be even unable to move.
Subsidy on gasoline prices benefits those consume more gasoline more than those consume less. This is unfair and contradicts to the policy of energy saving.
Subsidy on food is fairer because everyone needs to eat bean curd, and no one would eat 10 bean curds in a meal.
Besides, subsidy should be handed out in a prudent way, and should not be used as a political tool, that would misplace resources and jeopardize many things in many ways now and in future.
