Soon after posting the May 1st article the problem came back again, I really couldn’t figure out what was the real cause. At last I turned my focus to the Ethernet card for another try. I searched the card maker’s website, found a renewed version of driver. I downloaded and installed it. After I rebooted the system, the first feeling was the computer system seems become steadier.
I connected to ADSL several times, most of the time it went smoothly, but when I unplugged the cable and restarted the computer, then re-plugged the cable, the problem came back again. But the idle time has been halved to about 5 minutes. I noticed an Ethernet connection icon was showing the motion of trying to connect to LAN during this idle time, before this was completed, the ADSL and the computer won’t run. I didn’t know why the same icon didn’t show this motion the time before.
Now I’ve learned the real cause of the problem: before the LAN was connected the ADSL won’t work, if ADSL won’t work the net card couldn’t find an IP, thus the idle time happened until XP automatically designated it an IP. So, I unticked the automatically fetch IP function in the TCP/IP setting frame of the Ethernet, and input a set of private IP and subnet mask to avoid XP searching for an IP, thus saved the idle time.
Now the problem was truly solved, and I’ve learned a little more about net connection.
If this problem comes back again after I posted this article, then I had better pray to god.
貼上五月一日的文章之後,問題馬上又回來了,實在不知道原因出在哪裡.最後就針對區域網卡試試看,找了網卡製造商的網站,發現了新版的驅動程式,於是下載安裝,重開機後感覺系統似乎比較穩定.
數度連接ADSL大部份都還順暢,當拔掉纜線重新啟動電腦,再插入纜線,問題便又發生了,不過這次電腦呆滯的時間已減半到了約5分鐘.我看到區域網路連線的圖示,閃著嚐試連線的動作,在接通之前ADSL和電腦便都不會運作,我不曉得為什麼之前這個圖示都沒有這樣閃動過.
現在已經知道問題的癥結了:區域網路接通之前ADSL不會動,ADSL不動網路卡就抓不到IP,呆滯便會發生直到XP自動給它一個IP. 於是我把區域網路卡TCP/IP設定框中的自動取得IP位址的勾勾點掉,輸入一組私人IP和子網路遮罩,避免XP浪費時間尋找IP造成呆滯.
現在問題真的解決了,也多懂了一些連線的知識了.
